Giuseppe Arcimboldo(1527-1593)
Arcimboldo was a painter of the late Renaissance, especially Mannerism. As an artist of the Habsburg court, he is best known for his invention of composition portraits. On his panel paintings he created impressive still lifes and portraits with the composition of flowers, fruits or vegetables, but also inorganic objects such as books. In addition to his work as a painter, he worked at the Prague court as an engineer and costume designer as well as a musician.
